Mechanical
I designed this adjustable bedside table to experiment with a mechanical-looking set of shelves. I used walnut and ash for the two opposing limbs and made good use of the circle jig on the bandsaw to cut the three sections. I focused more on the shelf looking and feeling industrial rather than actually having a wide range of motion. The pin system is pretty awkward to adjust, but the protruding dowels and exposed hinges do convey the mechanism I want this piece of wooden furniture to mimic.
Process Bandsaw, drill press, hand sanding
Materials/Finish Varnished walnut and ash
